It was a beautiful. sunny Sunday for AIDS Walk Boston. It was an easy, 6-mile walk over flat terrain beginning at the Hatch Memorial Shell on Boston's Esplanade and proceeding up Arlington Street to Commonwealth Avenue, up through Kenmore Square and continuing on Beacon Street into Brookline, down Amory Street back to Commonwealth Avenue and across the BU Bridge into Cambridge, down along Memorial Drive near the Charles River, crossing the river again via the Massachusetts Avenue Bridge back to the Esplanade and ending back at the Hatch Shell. There was an excellent turnout with 20,000 participants who raised 1.2 million dollars to help people with AIDS and to help find a cure.
