Unfinished business in Afghanistan
Awaits whenever we can disengage
Ourselves from our self-made Iraqi mess.
Methinks we should perhaps devise a plan
Including North Korea and Iran?
The consequences are anyone's guess
As 'round the world our policies enrage
The terrorists who want to turn the page
Of history, all things American
Thereby consigned forever to the past,
Drowned deep beneath a boiling sea of hate,
While we, timid granchildren, stand aghast
Like hapless fish that must accept their fate
When withing, ineffectual, in a net
Of interwoven greed and late regret.
