Old Man Schooled
So at this point I am so out of it I may as well go into assisted living right now.
Back in 2005, Mike Sierra of Concord, Massachusetts, rightly pointed out that it is not only George W. Bush with a less than stellar academic record. John Kerry and Al Gore both share the distinction of having unenviable grade point averages. In joining in the general Bush-bashing based on his GPA, I allowed this idiot Mike a chance to pull the typical Republican conservative tactic of deliberately ignoring my point, that the Democrats lost the election because they didn't listen to their potential constituency and compromise on some of the more divisive social issues.
That said, I have grown more cynical over the past few years, and I do not anticipate being presented with a presidential candidate about whom I could be enthused. Even the Nobel Peace Prize-winning Al Gore, whose personal residence has a carbon footprint about the size of Rhode Island, I am led to believe, would not be a candidate that would elicit my excitement.
Therefore, I look forward to voting for the candidate who is not the warmonger.
As for you, Mike, I just want you to know that W really appreciates the hat you gave him. He wears it every time he opens his mouth.
