Elegy

 

To sail intransigent upon the seas

And never plan to tack, requires the more

Stupidity, blithe confidence that She

Who made the oceans and the foaming shore

Will navigator's arrogance ignore

 

Perhaps it's true, for if upon the reef

A sailor blindly strays, the ship will sink

And that is that, regardless of belief

Sometimes it doesn't matter what you think
